Banjo 5 string – traded a baglama saz to Chipper Thompson for this one. It belonged to his father and is a no-name but sounds good for clawhammer. The thin (5/16”) rim looks like it was bent up out of a piece of plywood. I find the neck too narrow. I plan to rip the frets out and replace the fingerboard with a 1/8” piece of brass for a zingy Round Peak style fretless. With some new tuners it should be pretty nice. |
